John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God loves us and so He sent Jesus for paying the penalty of our sins. Ephesians 2:8 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.” We are saved because of His grace and not through our works. The Bible makes it clear that because of His love and by His grace we are saved.
Love and grace plays an important role in Christian life. Spiritual love makes us grow. The love of the world forbids our growth. 1John4:19 says, “We love Him because He first loved us.” Its the love that we show in return to God’s love keeps us going.
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 12:9,”“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” God’s grace is sufficient for us. It gives us strength when we are weak. Even though we are sinners, we live by His grace.
“Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more”, says Paul in Romans 5:20. Does it mean sin and grace are proportional to each other? “Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?”, clarifies Paul in Romans 6:12.
When we are tempted to sin, do we still overlook the grace of God and commit sin. The Spirit of God is within us. When we sin, we hurt Him. Ephesians 4:30 says, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” Will you grieve the Holy Spirit again by taking His grace for granted?
