Christmas brings hope

  • 2 mins read

Cakes and Candles, Snow and Songs, Carols and Joy, Laughter and Love, loads of gifts…. Christmas mean much more than these. It’s the day on which the One who was seated gloriously in heaven came humbly down to earth. Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Almighty God forsook the heavenly glory and became man. Why did he come to earth? He came to earth so that we could be reconciled with God.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

In the beginning, God created man in His own image. But man sinned by disobeying God. Eventually the entire mankind sinned and sin separated us from God. Our reconciliation with God required the sacrifice of God’s own Son. God sent His own Son to die on the cross. The blood He shed on the cross cleanses us from sin.

“So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.” (Hebrews 13:12)

The birth of Jesus changed the course of human history. His birth brought peace to the entire mankind. “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”, sang angels on His birth. His birth brings us hope for tomorrow. If Christ had not born, we would have no way out of sin. But now Jesus delivers us from the bondage of sin.

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

The Christ who was born 2000 years ago needs to be born in your heart to make this Christmas meaningful. If you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior till now or if you are far away from Him, today is the day. May Christ be born in your heart today. Merry Christmas!
