Beyond time

  • 3 mins read

Everything in this world revolves around time. We attribute everything that happens around us to time. Time is what defines our day to day activities be it work, sleep or play. Time keeps us organised and it’s very difficult for us to think beyond the physical dimension called time. But do you know that there is someone who is outside the physical realm of time?

God, the creator of the entire universe lies outside time and He is the One who created time. The Bible says in 2 Peter 3:8, “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” If time is vital to keep us all going, how important is the presence of God in our lives?

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die..” Yes, we all were born at the appointed time and we all will die likewise. But what happens when we die? Where would you go after we die? The answer depends on the choice we make on earth.

We all chose evil over good by disobeying God’s commandments. We were unable to meet the requirements of the law and we deserved everlasting punishment in hell. But God made a way out for us by sending His Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. Galatians 4:4-5 says, “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law.”

Jesus lived a sinless life on earth, healed the sick, raised the dead and preached the Kingdom. He suffered and died on the cross on our behalf for our sins at the appointed time. Romans 5:6 says, “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” The One who lies outside time willingly came to earth to be bound by time and fulfil the plan of salvation.

Wait, it doesn’t end there. How could death hold someone who is beyond the realms of the physical dimensions? Yes, Jesus rose from the dead. Hebrews 10:12 says, “But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God.” God promises everlasting life in heaven to those who willing accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

Yes, it’s time to get started with a New Year. In this New Year, do you want to receive the gift of everlasting life from the Creator God who lies outside time and holds the universe together?
