“There was a feel of emptiness after i won gold”, said India’s lone individual gold medalist Abhinav Bindra after winning the gold medal in 10m air rifle. Bindra is expected to do nothing more than this! He made himself and his family proud! He brought laurels to his country! Still a sense of emptiness filled his heart!
Not only Bindra! Many of the world’s most eminent personalities felt empty after reaching greater heights in their lives! The human mind is not satisfied with the achievements of the world. The real satisfaction is for those who pursue God’s will. Jesus says in Matthew 5:6, “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully.”
You might ask if there is any other way to get satisfaction? Be sure that nothing else can satisfy you. Only Jesus can fill the emptiness in your heart. Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life…” He paid for our sins by shedding His precious blood. He gave His life on the cross so that we would live. Bible says in Ephesians 1:7, “For by the sacrificial death of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven…”
Jesus promises eternal life to those who truly seek Him. He says in Revelation 22:12, “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every one according to his work.” Jesus assures that His words never go untrue. He says in Matthew 24:35, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
Will you accept Him as your Personal Saviour? Jesus is knocking at your heart right now. He says in Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him…” Do you have the feel of emptiness in your heart? Jesus is waiting to fill your heart. He loves you! Open your heart to Him. Will you?
