Is not death the end of human life? Of course, death is the end of our lives here on earth. Though death is the end of life, it is not our destiny. Wonder how? Jesus says in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.” Those were not mere words. Jesus himself proved His words by rising from the dead. 1Corinthians 15:20 says, “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. The ultimate result of sinful life is eternal death. The Bible says in Ezekiel 18:20, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die…” Jesus, the Only begotten Son of God took human form and came to earth to save people of this world from perishing in their sins. Jesus suffered and died on the cross bearing the burden of our sins. Since Jesus bore our sins on our behalf, we need not bear our sins anymore.
Jesus who was dead and buried, rose from the dead on the third day. The Bible says in Matthew 28:6, “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said…” The Bible says again in Acts 13:30-31, “But God raised Him from the dead. He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people”. The resurrection of Our Lord Jesus gives us the hope for everlasting life.
The Bible says in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” God loved us so much that He sent His Only begotten Son to pay the penalty for our sins by suffering and dying on the cross. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Are you willing to believe the risen Lord?
