“Why was he born like this?”, “His father or mother had sinned and now he is experiencing God’s punishment”. “Because of His sinful nature, God punished him”. Many times we overlook physically challenged people like this. Is that really an outcome of sin? Are they truly experiencing God’s punishment?
Two thousand years ago, the same question was asked to Jesus Christ. John 9:2,3 says, “And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.” Yes, physically challenged are born to glorify God. Unlike others, they are specially chosen by God to reveal His glory. What a wonderful privilege!
Still not convinced? Jesus Christ fulfilled the task which was given by His Father God. In His life journey, to whom do we find Him minister very often? To the physically fit and healthier ones? No, He ministered to the sick and physically challenged. He healed the sick, gave vision to the blind, made the mute speak, opened the ears of deaf, enabled the lame to walk. Yes, He revealed His power through those who are physically challenged. And many believed in Him seeing His power and might.
The fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Only true living God is revealed unto many through the chosen Special children of God. Yes, They are really God’s Special. Have you been overlooking the physically challenged till now. Ask sorry to our Lord and He is ever merciful to forgive you.
Next time when you see someone who is physically challenged, take the opportunity to help them and pray for them with compassion. If you are someone who is physically challenged, thank God for You are God’s Special Child!
